摘要: |
The optimisation of feeder bus routes and coordinated frequencies to a metro station of a city provides the commuter faster, convenient and comfortable journey. This paper attempts to develop an optimisation based approach for operational integration of metro trains and feeder buses by considering objectives of not just operator and user but also of community in terms of sustainability. The paper describes a multi-objective optimisation model in which an attempt has been made to minimise the sum of user and operator cost, and as well as to maximise Composite Sustainability Index (CSI) value. CSI value includes sustainability indicators under all the three pillars - social, economic and environmental. Elasticity in demand due to introduction of feeder bus network is also captured using a mode choice model which is based on individual's mode choice behaviour. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied to solve this nonlinear and non-convex combinatorial problem. The model is applied on a hypothetical as well as a real feeder network. |
