摘要: Modification of soil refers to change in physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the soil to increase the strength of soil. This paper describes the properties of soil before modification and properties of soil after modification. A series of standard proctor tests and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests were conducted on soil + fly ash and soil + construction demolition (C&D) waste mixes respectively. This reveals increase in strength properties of the mixes. The increase in strength is more in case of C&D waste compared to that of fly ash. The main objective of this paper is to find the best material for modification of local soil to be used in pavements, embankments etc.
