Connected and Automated Parking Feasibility/MDOT MTA Dorsey Run Pilot Project |
摘要: |
The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is partnering with STEER Tech to test Highly Automated Vehicles (HAVs) in closed and mixed traffic environments with the following goals in mind: measure potential space efficiencies gained in commuter parking lots, ability to increase transit ridership, and assess commuters’ receptiveness to HAVs. Testing will be conducted at the Dorsey MARC station parking lot. Operation of the HAVs is conducted through a proprietary app that allows users to summon and park vehicles autonomously. If successful, this technology may help transit agencies increase capacity over 20% within commuter parking lots and may boost ridership if first/last mile roadblocks are removed. |
