摘要: Steel fiber and silica fume was incorporated in high strength concrete pavement quality course to enhance properties of the structures. It was experiential that compressive strength, flexural strength of concrete was increased due to partially replacement of cement by silica fume. 5%, 10% and 15% of silica fume was used as a replacement for cement with 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% percentage of steel fiber. Optimum percentage of steel fiber was found to be 1.5% by volume of the specimen beyond which balling effect, segregation of the ingredients was observed and concrete is no longer workable. The properties of concrete in fresh and hardened states were investigated. Slump cone test was conducted on fresh state of concrete and compressive strength test, flexural strength test was conducted on hardened concrete at randomly and one third position of steel fiber from top of the pavement surface. For 1.5% steel fiber and 15% silica fume in high strength concrete best possible results were obtained in both the position of steel fiber. Steel fiber in concrete increases the flexural strength and duc6tility. At one third depth from top of the pavement surface it was observed that beam undergo maximum displacement and increase in ductility was observed. The thickness of rigid pavement was found by guidelines given in IRC:58-2015. With steel fiber and silica fume used in concrete pavement the thickness of pavement was considerably reduced.
