摘要: Driver's behavior is a commanding factor in determining road safety. Knowledge of this subject and its effective factors can be helpful to reduce the impacts of human factors on road accidents. In India, 60% of roads are two lane undivided carriageway with earthen shoulders and most of the long-distance travelling truck drivers are aged people. The objective of this study is to apply micro level Roadside Interview technique with aid of Manchester Driver Behavior Questionnaire with site specific and local conditions to a group of truck drivers on a two-lane undivided carriageway of Bachupally road near Medchal, Hyderabad, India and to analyze their driving pattern based on their age. The questionnaire is divided into 4 parts like errors, lapses, ordinary violations and aggressive violations. Investigation has been done by applying the concept of factor analysis and ANalysis Of VAriance. The outcomes showed that growing in age of the driver gave rise to an increase in errors and violations to some extent and beyond that increase in age causes reduction in violations. The results demonstrated a relationship between age of the driver and the score of violations. Driver's behavior in terms of their age showed that more the age, the fewer the number of violations, whereas the error commitment is more.
