摘要: The collective behaviour of people in the Road Traffic Environment (RTE) indicates the effect on young motorcyclists. The study aims to unravel the interactive process between the safety concerns - reflective experiences of young motorcyclists and traffic culture of Pune metropolis, India. A captive group of 165 young students (age 22 to 27 years) participated in the survey. The study applies structural modeling technique by using SmartPLS tool (Ringle, Wende & Becker, 2014). The validity of the constructs Displeasure, Worry and Annoyance on the pro-safety intention in urban traffic system are demonstrated. The annoyance due to RTE and worry regarding safety were found to have sufficient partial-parallel mediation effect between overall displeasure regarding safety and willingness to take preventive care from the accident. The results showed the situation based-imperative measures of the feeling of worry, annoyance and risk-prone traffic condition in Pune metropolis. The young participants were found confident of motorcycle riding; which made them reluctant towards taking accident preventive practices. Individually, young motorcyclists were sensitive towards traffic safety issues; hence they were inclined to seek preventive care for the traffic risk. This willingness to change intention may be capitalised by presenting behavioural change interventions to induce health protection behaviour and mitigate traffic risk hazards for the targeted young motorcyclists.
