摘要: Human is believed to play an important role when the One of the most substantial concerns in the maritime industry is a safety at sea. To improve safety levels at sea, maritime authorities have adopted a set of rules and regulations since marine incidents can cause fatal damages to human life and environment [1].Asit stated in the recent review of maritime transport by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) clearly, global seaborne shipments had increased by 4% in 2017, and the 2018—2023 projection indicates that this percentage will increase up to 3.8% per year [2]. The shipping industry is always looking for implementing new safety measures to reduce accident rates [3]. Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that is crossed by the equator and is located between the continents of Asia and Australia, and between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Indonesia is the world's largest archipelagic nation, with 17,504 islands and a coastline that extends more than 54,716 km [4]. Indonesian has a total area of 5,455,675 km2 and 3,544,744 km2 or 2/3 or its territory are seas. Seeing the wide of the ocean in Indonesia, it is not surprising that the shipping of cargo still depends on maritime transportation. The aim of this study is to determine the statistical conditions of maritime cargo accidents in Indonesia for the period 2013 - 2018. The other aim is showing the current distribution of the maritime cargo accidents.
