| 摘要： | The causes of the destructive expansion and weakening of cement-treated bases (CTBs) on two sections of US-85 in northeastern Wyoming are examined. The research project was jointly conducted by the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Transportation. One-dimensional expansions, unconfined compressive strengths and X-ray analyses were performed to determine the causes behind the expansion of the CTBs. It was found that chemical reactions among clay, cement, and sulfate caused most of the deterioration. |
