摘要: Three mix design methods currently available to industry were used to select the asphalt content for a mix used on an overlay placed in November 1993 on Interstate 17 near Phoenix, Arizona. The methods used were Marshall, Superpave Level I, and a performance-based procedure developed during the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) Project A-003A using the results of the repetitive simple shear test at constant height and the flexural bending beam test. The mix, with the asphalt content selected based on the method derived in SHRP Project A-003A, was further evaluated by the Hamburg wheel tracking device. The results of a condition survey performed on the actual pavement several months after construction, are presented.
