| 摘要： | STUs spend hundreds of crores of rupees on purchase and retreading of tyres depending on the fleet size. The maximum tyres used on buses are of cross ply or conventional type. Usage of technologically advanced radial type tyres is also increasing in STUs. There are advantages as well as disadvantages in use of both the types of tyres which are discussed in detail. The group of STUs selected far the study has some or the other way similar working, deploying the vehicles in rural, urban and hilly areas. The performance of tyres of different prominent manufactures is studied with respect to new tyre kilometres, retreading factors, cumulative kilometres, cost per kilometre, etc. This sharing of the performance of tyres of different makes in STUs will help them in taking preventive and corrective measures. |
