By varying the shape of the towers, the arrangement of the cables, and the cross section of the deck girder, it is almost always possible to create a cable-stayed bridge to fit in any given landscape. Since their debut 45 years ago, the beauty of cable-stayed bridges has piqued the interest of engineers and nonengineers alike. |
