| 摘要： | High occupancy vehicle (HOV) facilities in the San Francisco Bay area are discussed. The Bay area consists of nine counties (Caltrans District 4), with approximately 155 lane-miles of HOV lanes in operation and another 65 lane-miles under construction. Some 12 lane-miles of the existing HOV lanes are being modified. In addition, about 78 lane-miles are programmed within the next five years. All of the HOV lanes in District 4 are contiguous lanes with no buffers between the HOV lane and the mixed flow lanes. The lanes revert to general purpose use during the non-peak hours. Forty-one park-and-ride lots are in operation in the Bay area. A study is underway to examine the usage of existing lots and the need for future facilities. |
