| 摘要： | This research explored new techniques of disbonding ice including pavement modifications (microencapsulation of deicers, rubber additive), noncontact methods (electromagnetic radiation, abrasive air and liquid jets, acoustic waves, pressurized deicer) and contact techniques (efficient cutting edge for snow plows). The details of the study are described, and the findings are presented. After a period of a year and a half and an expenditure of $650,000, the project was terminated because it was determined that none of the approaches except for the cutting edge designs were sufficiencly developed to be put into practice during the life of the Strategic Highway Research Program. |
