| 摘要： | This report presents guidance for practitioners in assessing the impacts of bridge deck runoff on receiving waters and, if necessary, identifying the most appropriate method of mitigation as part of an overall management plan. This volume, Volume 1, includes the findings of a literature review, a survey of current highway agency practice, stakeholder consultation, and biological testing at both freshwater and saltwater sites. The second volume presents the assessment process that was developed on the basis of the findings reported in the Final Report (Volume 1). Use of these two volumes should be particularly helpful for practitioners (especially those responsible for structural, hydraulic, and water quality design and evaluation) in making sound, scientifically defensible decisions concerning the need for water runoff controls on new, replacement, or existing structures. |
