摘要: |
This synthesis will be of interest to transit agency general managers, financial officers, policy and planning personnel and others concerned with the economic and budget aspects of providing transit service, as well as funding officials and policymakers in organizations such as departments of transportation (DOTs) and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs). This synthesis explores current practice and trends regarding the linkages between financial assistance, service provision, and performance measurement. It provides an overview of selected transit agency funding programs, as well as some current information from state DOTs. This report of the Transportation Research Board examines the role of state government in assisting local transit service. Survey results from both funding agencies and funding recipients are presented, along with selected case study examples of methods used to apportion transit operating funds. |
