| 摘要： | The goal of this study was to review the state of Advanced Public Transportation Systems (APTS) and determine how far transit should go in implementing new technologies in rural and small urban areas. This final report presents an approach to determine APTS applicability; identifies technology system implementations in rural transit systems; identifies integrated highway and public transit efforts in jointly supporting technology infrastructures; summarizes findings from a telephone survey of APTS sites; presents the findings from visits to six case study sites; presents a taxonomy or process to evaluate transit technology; presents measures of effectiveness to evaluate how well advanced technology solutions meet rural transit needs; and provides information on financing technology capital costs. |
