This report describes the performance metrics and the baseline measurement system. It also describes efforts to determine the accuracy of the baseline system in determining the time and position of roadway departures. In addition, the precise, synchronized recording of video and GPS data proved useful in determining the accuracy and the delays of GPS when measuring the position of a moving vehicle. The baseline measurement system is now sufficiently mature to be used to evaluate roadway departure warning systems. The measurement system also serves as a promising platform to perform a wide range of the evaluations. |
