| 摘要： | This report presents an overview of the National Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program , examining a number of options regarding the future federal role in this initiative. It begins with an introduction to the major categories of ITS technologies and a discussion of the status of the program. This is followed by an analysis of the role of the Department of Transportation in this public private partnership and government policy in general regarding ITS. The report then studies 13 different options regarding the future involvement of the DOT in the National ITS Program. The proposed National Economic Crossroads Transportation Efficiency Act of 1997 (NEXTEA) is also discussed. |
