摘要：	In this report, we discuss a potential future payment system where a customers payment instrument would be accepted for transportation payments throughout the region. The discussions about a future system involve no preconceived assumptions about which payment system technology is used, which agencies are accepting smart cards for fare payment, which agencies are issuing smart cards for regional use, which agencies may use other available technologies, or how a clearinghouse is operated. Most of these issues have yet to be resolved, and will be critical factors in the development and success of a regional, multimodal electronic payments system.
