| 摘要： | This paper discusses the specific examples of how the current information components of transportation systems are insufficient for advanced applications such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The projects discussed demonstrate that transportation technology can be hampered by lack of adequate spatial data. The authors conclude that if ITS goals are to be achieved, there is a need for a strong federal role in developing a national system for gathering and maintaining up-to-date geospatial data. |
