This report discusses analyses that were conducted to explore scenarios of national coverage of a differential global positional system (DGPS) correction signal. The goal of the analyses was the development of coverage scenarios that minimize interference difficulties, meet level of service minimal requirements, and maximize cost effectiveness. The scenarios were based on extensions of a currently existing network of DGPS radiobeacons. A number of different parameters and tradeoffs among the parameters were taken into account, including the effective radiated powers of the broadcast sites, the locations and numbers of the sites, and their frequency assignments. |
