| 摘要： | The Texas-Mexico border Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) assessment is the result of ongoing research being conducted under Focus Area 3 -- International Border Transportation Services -- of the Texas A&M ITS Research Center of Excellence (RCE). One of the main objectives of this focus area is to develop an ITS assessment for the Texas-Mexico border area for the use of innovative technologies and procedures in the border area to address issues of congestion, safety, mobility, and system efficiency. Recommendations based on RCE research and interaction with the Border Transportation Advisory Panel suggest that the successful design and implementation of ITS technologies and innovative operating procedures in the border area will depend to a great extent on educating potential users and suppliers of ITS technologies. It will also be important to provide current and accurate information on existing conditions in the international trade and transportation environment; obsolete or incorrect information adversely affects the decision-making process. |
