| 摘要： | This article describes the development and progress of the Nationwide Differential Global Positioning System (NDGPS). The NDGPS is a national system of 91-meter-high reference towers designed to improve the accuracy of the positioning information obtained via radio signals emitted by the 24 GPS satellites traveling in orbit around the Earth. An overview is provided of recent improvements in the NDGPS and its weather forecasting capabilities, new applications (such as precise vehicle positioning), and the coverage network estimated to be in operation by the end of 2001. |
