| 摘要： | The Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways has served the United States for 40 years. This article reports on the present condition of pavements and bridges in the system, and discusses the growing problem of traffic congestion on urban interstates. Generally, the interstate system is in fairly good shape and will be the core of the 260,000-km National Highway System that will form the basis of a fully integrated intermodal system for the 21st century. |
