摘要: THE INFLUENCE OF TIME ON THE FATIGUE STRENGTH OF PRESTRESSING WIRES CONSTANTLY UNDER STRESS WAS DETERMINED BY MEANS OF TESTS ON WIRES REMOVED FROM VARIOUS STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF DIFFERENT AGES, AND ON WIRES WHICH HAD BEEN SUBJECTED TO A STRESS OF ABOUT 0.60 BETA (Z) FOR ONE AND A HALF YEARS. THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS SHOW THAT, FOR THE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TYPES OF PRESTRESSING WIRE, GIVEN MAXIMUM STRESS IN THE REGION OF THE PERMISSIBLE STRESS UNDER A CONTINUOUS LOADING IN THE REGION OF THE PERMISSIBLE STRESS, THERE IS NO DECREASE IN FATIGUE STRENGTH UNLESS THE PRESTRESSING WIRES ARE DAMAGED BY FAIRLY MARKED CORROSION OR MECHANICAL IMPAIRMENT.
