Q: From your unique perspective, what did you see as the biggest logistics and supply chain challenge brought on by the pandemic? A: With COVID-19, the labor shortage that marked the industry from 2015 on has turned into a full-on crisis. In addition, the massive increase in online purchases has created a significant crunch on capacity, both in terms of fulfillment and transportation. Small to midsize 3PLs have been placed under tremendous pressure to maintain SLAs in the face of insufficient labor resources and/or inflexible legacy systems that aren't equipped to scale. All of this is a strong recipe towards automation. |
