摘要：	This paper puts forth anticipated goals and needs of the pavement management industry as determined by the Transportation Research Board Committee on Pavement Management Systems. Pavement management systems are expected to continue to be a critical component of managing and maintaining the transportation infrastructure around the world. Many changes have evolved in the field of pavement management, leading to the continued development and refinement of computerized capabilities and analysis tools. Changes in this industry have evolved as the types of information required by public agencies have changed. The importance of management systems to assist with effective allocation of resources to manage infrastructure assets has become more critical than ever. Earlier accomplishments of other related organizations, workshops, and conferences are listed, and future issues and challenges are described and outlined.
