Wrightbus has secured all of a 145-vehicle order from Northern Ireland's state-owned Translink, more than two-thirds of which will be zero-emission electric double-deckers. These include a new diesel-engined single-deck model. The £66million order from the province's Department for Infrastructure will put 131 double-deckers and 14 single-deckers into the Metro and Ulsterbus fleets in 2021/22, marking a major win for the Ballymena-based manufacturer, which industrialist Jo Bamford rescued from administration in autumn 2019 All 145 of these vehicles will have camera systems in place of conventional driving mirrors. |
