There are many ways of finding out about vehicles of interest; notably the publications of the PSV Circle and the pages of Buses. The one shown this month came to my attention via a much less usual source: Channel 5's The Hotel Inspector, in an episode in which Alex Polizzi visited Colliters Brook Farm, Dundry, near Bristol, to offer advice to the then ailing business. Seen in the grounds, in a couple of shots, was a long, dual-door Marshall Capital-bodied vehicle, complete with an orange beacon on its roof. At first I was puzzled as to what this was, but then the penny dropped. I realised it was one of two 11.3m Dennis Dart SLFs supplied in January 2000 to Bristol Airport, complete with additional offside centre entrances. As airside vehicles, they were out of bounds to enthusiasts, which was frustrating, as they were the only ones of their type. |
