Jordan Brookes has taken delivery of his newly restored Alexander Strider-bodied Volvo B10B-58 new to West Riding Group in 1994. The three West Riding companies turned to Strider-bodied chassis after Volvo ceased producing their standard post-deregulation single-decker, the Leyland Lynx. They bought 29 on B10B-58 chassis and 30 built on the Dennis Lance. M412 UNW is the only survivor of the Volvos, new as 412 in the red and cream livery of Yorkshire Woollen, which had nine Volvos and 18 Lances. It has been repainted - by East Yorkshire at its Hull depot - in the green and cream of West Riding, which had 13 of the Volvos and 12 Lances. Selby & District, which used the same green livery, had the other seven Volvos when new. |
