摘要: |
Research suggests that novice drivers frequently over-estimate their driving skill and underestimate the difficulty of the driving task. Optimism bias and over-confidence are risk factors for young driver accident involvement. This project involved the research and development of material (in the form of self assessment modules) to allow novice drivers to calibrate their estimate of personal driving skill level and the demands of driving, in order for them to make more accurate assessments of themselves as drivers. The results of this research, including the initial trialing of the self-assessment module, are presented in this paper. (a) For the covering entry of this conference, please see IRRD abstract no.
