摘要: The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management announced in February that the federal agency is resuming its environmental review of the Vineyard Wind project. In November 2020, Vineyard Wind developers requested BOEM pause its review process so they could prepare an updated plan for using GE Haliade-X turbines, with power output up to 14 megawatts which could reduce the number of machines required off southern New England. According to a report from Allied Market Research, the global autonomous ships market generated $85.8 billion in 2020 and is estimated to grow to $165.6 billion by 2030, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% from 2020 to 2030. A surge in operational safety of ships and rise in demand for marine cargo transportation have boosted the growth of the global autonomous ships market. The Coast Guard issued a warning recently to mariners and commercial fisherman about the dangers and legal consequences of disabling a vessel's automated identification system. The Coast Guard has seen an alarming increase of commercial fishing and crabbing vessels disabling their AIS, purportedly in an attempt to keep their fishing spots secret from competition.
