| 摘要： | Dravo Corp., Pittsburgh, and the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission have announced that Dravo will build a marine repair yard on the east bank of the Mississippi River two miles south of the Louisiana capital. In the first phase of the program, Dravo will install facilities for major repair and maintenance of river towboats, barges and other equip- ment, as well as shipside service for ocean-going vessels. Future plans call for a major expansion of the repair and maintenance facility. The Palaemon, built by Todd Shipyards Corp., Houston, is a special purpose barge designed to transport first stage rocket boosters for the Saturn space vehicle from the development site at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., to the Cape Canaveral, Fla., rocket launching grounds. Basic design for the 180'×38'×13' barge was developed by the Army Transportation Corps, Ft. Eustis, Va. |
