摘要: Short and long waves from the Baltic Sea are known to enter the northern part of Klaipeda port, constituting a hazard to vessels moored there. So specific measures were called for. The basic fender design is based on formulae given in the relevant standards and technical recommendations. Field investigations, however, supplied valuable additional information. This led to further refinements in the basic fender design, based on the critical design aspects investigated in situ.
