摘要: Wave penetration in the planned modified harbour of Oostende has been studied using numerical modelling. The commercial software package SimWave has been used. The Simwave computer model is based on Nwogu's extended Boussinesq model equations. These equations are solved in the time domain. The model simulates the shallow water effects (e.g. shoaling, refraction, diffraction, wave run-up and wave breaking) which the waves are subjected to when they penetrate the harbour. Validation of the numerical model has been carried out by comparing data from a prototype measurement campaign with results from a numerical simulation. The simulations are specified by different storm return periods. Influence of wave period, wave height, water level and nature of wave attack (regular or irregular waves) have been considered.
