| 摘要： | The Australian Government launched Australia’s Oceans Policy in December 1998. This Policy not only encourages a shared sense of understanding and stewardship within the Australian community but outlines a framework to achieve the Ecologically Sustainable Development of Australia’s oceans. Without an Oceans Policy and its overall strategic approach for our oceans, Australia would continue to operate on a sectoral basis without the capacity to handle increasing pressures on our oceans, in part driven by cross-sectoral and cross-jurisdictional resource disputes. |
