| 摘要： | This paper describes how passenger information systems are increasingly becoming an essential element in the train system. They respond to the changes underway in the railways and mass transit global environments, such as: government debt reduction, demands of the aging population, integration of disabled people in society, utilizing information technology to lower costs, private-public partnerships, enhancing security and improving customer services. Passenger information systems have evolved from operator voice only to multimedia systems that can be updated in real-time via wireless networks. The next step of the evolution is inter-modal integrated systems for any mode of public mass transportation and web technologies over high bandwidth wireline/wireless networks. The heart of the system is an integrated control center capable of commanding all types of passenger information/entertainment and security technologies, such as on-board and station displays, public address systems, intercom, CCTV and more. This solution is providing travelers with increased safety and security, broadcasted or personalized real-time "web like" information/entertainment, interactive Internet/Intranet access. The paper also covers the financial models that support the deployment of passenger information systems. |
