摘要: Transit website design is critical to both its acceptance and use. This report describes the results of a process recently used to characterize user cognitive expectations for 50 information elements of transit system websites. This cognitive structure approach basically involved: (1) collection of user card sort data, (2) data summarization and structural analysis, and (3) application directed interpretation. Analyses supported a common 10-component structure that could be readily translated into the design of a transit website. Findings both (a) supported a requirement for a home page with navigational links to specific major areas of the website; and (b) delineated constituents of these major areas. Results of our transit user study consequently served to outline unique opportunities for website enhancement.
