摘要: This paper, we introduce a new adaptive traffic control system (MACS). It can run on personal computers. First, the paper describes the physical architecture and components of MACS system. Then we talk about its operation principle. We also present traffic flow prediction model used in it. At the last, some programs running interfaces are listed and what they are doing is explained. The development of low-cost, high-capacity personal computers has provided a practical alternative to the use of the system master computer to control urban traffic. The MACS (Mixed-Traffic Adaptive Control System) is a new urban adaptive traffic management system, which can run on personal computers. It was developed by Jilin University ITS R&D Center with the cooperation of Beijing Blue Shield High & New Tech. Co. Ltd. It can solve the traffic problem with low cost both in hardware and software. MACS is a dynamic, on-line, real-time method of signal control system that continuously measures traffic demand on all the approaches to intersections in the road network and optimizes the signal timings at each intersection to minimize delay and stops. To avoid major disruption to traffic flows, and to allow rapid response to changing traffic conditions, timing changes are small and frequent. This project is mainly responsible for the research and development of the Signal Timing Optimization System (STOS) and Blue Shield Company is devoted to the development of traffic management operation platform. MACS system software is designed with the concept of COM/DCOM technique.
