摘要：	FRAME-NET is the European Commission Thematic Network for coordinating the implementation of the ITS Framework Architecture which was developed in the KAREN project for Europe. FRAME-NET is the European User Forum for ITS Architecture. It is the channel for provision and the body for decision on additions and changes of the European architecture. In this aspect it acts as the portal to the FRAMES project, which takes care of maintenance, the navigation tool, high level user support and training courses. It also provides the platform for convergence between European national architectures. Four working groups specifically address relevant issues: validation of KAREN with the experience of the national architectures, identification and feasibility study of extension with multimodal areas or services, validation of the navigation tool, and impact assessment of the use of ITS architectures, in particular the KAREN architecture. Special workshops will be organized for Eastern Europe and to identify and act on common issues with other regions (US, Japan). First results are reported. The FRAMENET organization is described and an update is given of Europe's national architectures.
