摘要：	The CentroMap is a technical specification, which combines digital road maps as specified by GDF with the location coding mechanism of ALERT C also known as RDS-TMC locations. Thus, well-defined software can be build for reading and integrating data into systems for visualization of traffic messages or dynamic cross-border rerouting. Within such systems the GDF features defined for RDS-TMC location referencing allow all types of referencing and thus improve coverage and flexibility compared to proprietary RDS-TMC attributes on the road network usually provided by commercial GDF map providers. In the very dense and heavily used highway network in the Central European regions, traffic information collection and dissemination as well as traffic control is not a task that can be done on a region by region basis. In order to overcome the current limitations and to establish an infrastructure for the cross-regional flow of traffic related information, the CENTRICO project (Central European region transport telematics implementation co-ordination) has been introduced, which is supported by the Eupean Commission. The participating regions are from Belgium, England, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands. CENTRICO is divided into application domains. In Application Domain 2 "Traffic Centres" a Special Working Group 2 (SWG) has been introduced for the specification of a common digital map and harmonized methods for referencing RDS-TMC locations, e.g., as used in ALERT C or DATEX messages for a TIC2TIC (traffic information center) cross-border data exchange. The term CentroMap, short for "Central European Regional Telematics Road Map", has been introduced for the specification and the maps.
