| 摘要： | To afford the Japanese people "secure, safe, and comfortable" living suitable for both aging society and a society of fewer children in the 21st century, the National Police Agency (NPA), Japan installed and is experimentally operating three types of systems for the visually and aurally handicapped, wheelchair users, the aged, etc. in 20 areas selected for demonstration as its tackling aimed at the construction of Pedestrian Information Communication Systems (PICS) truly desired by such people. The NPA completed last year its objective evaluation on the effectiveness of these systems by soliciting wide views, based on which it will aim at the development of a new measure for securing pedestrians' safety as well as a PICS for facilitating the smooth movement of handicapped pedestrians. |
