When the traffic flow is considered as a set of individual driver's route choice results, the research of individual driver's route choice pattern gives so much implications when designing and implementing ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and ITS-oriented information systems. Therefore, this kind of research has been widely performed to modeling the driver's route choice behavior and to design the better efficient route guidance algorithms those generally focused on the search of the shortest time and distance demand route. However, it is certain that all of drivers will not want such kind of route guidance, because the route choice pattern is influenced by various factors, for example, driver's demographic characteristics, subjective preferences, driving object, traffic and road conditions, and so on. Hence, it is very complex and sophisticated work to be dealt with. Moreover, with the advance of ITS and automotive technologies, individual driver's satisfaction as well as road efficiency becomes more important evaluation criteria for individual satisfaction and system usability using intelligent and adaptive technologies. This study investigated the PGA (Parallel Genetic Algorithm)-based adaptive route guidance algorithm, that is applicable for many ITS areas. And then, the prototype of personalized adaptive user-interface system for intelligent route guidance is suggested and simulated. (A*) For the covering abstract see ITRD E110327. |
