摘要: The main control center plays major role to control all roadside systems, including vehicle detection sensors and wireless modems which are connected to the road side network system, and gathers information of vehicles and road situations. Using this information the main control center sends control commands to AIV’s. Each AIV operates autonomously based on lateral control and longitudinal control systems. In demonstration, four vehicle platoon system were operated at the speed of 80Km/h with inter-vehicle distance of 10m during the ITS 1998 Seoul World Congress. The implication of this research is very important because the platoon system is developed to achieve the goals of practicality and commercialization in the near future, and is the first step toward many challenging technical issues in Korea.
