| 摘要： | The concept developed in PROMOTE CHAUFFEUR, a financed programme by the European Community, has been intended as a promising solution to improve the traffic handling capability of the european motorways. The Consortium has been formed by two truck maufacturers, some major supplier of automotive components, research laboratories and system consultants. The basic idea consists on coupling two commercial vehicles by means of a virtual electronic Tow-Bar. The leading vehicle is conventionally driven, the second automatically follows the first vehicle at a very short distance. In this paper are described concept, system architecture, test results of the truck couple built by IVECO, partner of the Consortium as truck manufacturer . |
