摘要: It is important to provide a safety design guideline to ensure design of the Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway System (AHS). The draft of the IEC61508 (functional safety: safety related systems) has been under investigation as a comprehensive functional safety standard. The draft is intended to request development of a suitable safety guideline for specific applications including the target reliability from the viewpoint of safety. The AHS systems categorized three sub-systems of AHS-i, AHS-c and AHS-a. The AHS-i includes the information system and the warning system, the AHS-c includes the collision avoidance support system and the collision mitigation system, and the AHS-a includes the partial automation system and the full automation system. The authors have studied the system reliability of other industrial automatic control systems and have analyzed events to cause accident in the event of AHS failure and/or human error. The safety design guideline and the reliability of the AHS systems from the viewpoint ofsafety design has been proposed.
