| 摘要： | In 1995 the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) decided to expedite the planned $1.5 Billion reconstruction of a 17 mile section of I-15 through the Salt Lake City area, in order to complete the project before the 2002 Olympic Games. These two situations led UDOT and other partnering agencies to accelerate the deployment of an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and other ITS services to help meet the transportation needs to support Olympic Games and to serve the traffic management requirements of the I-15 project. Introduced in this paper are the Utahs experiences in the fast-track ATMS/ITS deployment, and the major factors that contribute to the fast deployment. |
