摘要: This research aimed at using the predictive capability of a network model, HDM-III, to optimize the maintenance schedule applied by an aggregated project-oriented maintenance management system, BSM. A knowledge-based approach was indicated in order to replicate the use of HDM-III by an expert so that the parameters used by BSM could be set at appropriate levels and so that the works list could be further optimized to obtain the best return for the maintenance money spent. The knowledge-based approach will facilitate the future use of other models. The research resulted in a number of modules that fall broadly into three program modules while exploiting common knowledge bases. The purpose of the modules is explained. Included are results of the application of the work to data obtained from the road network in Cyprus.
