| 摘要： | This paper presents the use of wireless technology to deliver real- time transit information. It describes a system which delivers the estimated departure times, for over 1200 buses, within a large geographic region, 2500 square miles of King County Washington, USA to Internet-enabled mobile cell phones. Delivering this much information on a small handset presents significant challenges. This paper demonstrates that the physical restrictions of such devices such as screen size and input options, can be overcome to achieve effective user interactions and data presentations. The system is publicly available via the World Wide Web. In this paper we present an overview of the architecture to create such an application along with some preliminary usage results of deploying it in Seattle. |
