摘要：	This system architecture paper will discuss proposed architectures for the four 'infrastructure oriented' program areas defined by the project team and presented in the Strategic Deployment Plan (August 1997). As explained in the Strategic Deployment Plan, the other two program areas are process oriented and therefore do not require system architecture. This report will concentrate on defining a combination of the physical and logical architecture of specific projects in the four program areas to define their interfaces and communication criteria. The four program areas, which will be discussed in this paper, are: ProgramArea1:Freeway/Incident Management Systems; Program Area 2: Advanced Traffic Signal Control Systems; Program Area 3: Public Transportation Systems; Program Area 4: Multimodal Traveler Information Systems. A brief overview of these program areas and the projects that fall under them is discussed.
